When I received my sample for Mizon Returning Starfish Cream in a previous RoseRose Shop order (see my review here), I also received one for Mizon’s All In One Snail Repair Cream. I know snails are somewhat of a cult Holy Grail item in the beauty world right now, but I hadn’t yet given any thought to trying them on my face (I do love to eat them cooked in garlic though!). With some dry skin, and a free sample, I figured I had nothing to lose by trying. Now I have to say, this was a very small sample sachet, with not much product in it so this is very much just a first impression, not an in depth trial or review of the product.
I found the texture nice and smooth, maybe a little on the oily side compared to what I’d usually use, but it wasn’t too runny. The sachet had just enough to cover my face and most of my neck, and it blended in to my skin nicely. Shortly after applying the cream to my face, I felt dry, actually I felt like my skin was tightening and contracting a bit. It didn’t feel incredibly uncomfortable, and I had no other side effects, but I just didn’t like the way it felt. I left it on, but I didn’t really feel moisturised afterwards at all. I do have sensitive skin, so I wonder if it’s just me – most people do rave about this Snail Cream!
Based on my first impression, I definitely wouldn’t buy Mizon All In One Snail Repair Cream, but I would try another sample and give it another fair go. It wasn’t unpleasant to use, apart from feeling a bit ‘weird’ on my skin, and it is impossible to say how moisturising it is without using it for a decent amount of time.
I’m sorry this won’t really help any of you make a decision to buy it, but all I can say is, try the samples from Rose Rose Shop first (available here, or you may randomly get some in your order), and see what you think. They also ship for free! If you want to throw caution to the wind and try a full size one anyway, visit W2 Beauty.
